Rustic Resort

Sorrento, ME Residential

Perched on the water’s edge

Originally a bland 1960s “box” situated just a few feet from the ocean’s edge, we enlarged this coastal cottage and renovated it into a richly textured and detailed craftsman-inspired home. All three buildings are carefully situated together—but apart to afford privacy. The design makes the most of the sweeping views—welcoming the sun and the shoreline—while keeping the grouping asymmetrical and rustic. The design works around the terrain, and embracing the natural beauty of its surroundings, with connecting pathways to ebullient flower gardens.
